Julie & Julia . . . and Jen?

So we just watched Julie & Julia - cute little movie, not my favorite but it did leave me with the desire to bake bake bake! Only one small problem . . . our oven turns everything black at the bottom. It's an art to even try and toast some garlic bread in there (which I completely failed at today). I can't wait to have an apartment that has a working oven! Although its probably better on both of our wallets and weights that I don't! I think I'll be dreaming all night long about cake bites and cupcakes and brownies. Mmmm mmm mmm. Maybe when we move to our next place I'll turn this into a food blog and make my delicious dreams become a reality, but for now all I can do is fantasize . . .

1 month!

Yesterday was our one month anniversary! Since it was MLK day, I didn't have to go to work so we got to spend the day sleeping in and being lazy. We met Pete and Sarah at IKEA in the afternoon, then went out to eat at a yummy Brazilian steakhouse way out of our price range (thank you wedding guests!). It blew Tucano's out of the water but we are still suffering the consequences of some nasty stomachaches from all that meat! We went to Max Brenner after and split a delicious sundae. It was nice to go out and pretend we have money! We would have taken pictures but apparently lights are a commodity among restaurants in the city, we could barely see each other over dessert! It's crazy that we've been married for a month - it still doesn't feel real to me. It's been an insane few weeks trying to get used to living together and the stresses of school and Daniel trying to find a job, but its so nice to wake up every morning to each other and realize every night when we go to bed that we love each other even more than we did the night before!

Here we go . . .

And our blog is up and running! Here's a few pics from the honeymoon, we went to temple square to see the lights the day after the wedding and ended up running into Jen's whole family!

New Years Day

We woke up late (surprise) and thought we'd missed the Mummer's Parade so we hitched the subway up to center city to catch up with them. Turns out we only missed a teeny portion, so we walked home and got to see the fancy brigade and watched the rest of it on tv. We will say one thing, New Years in Philly is much more of a drunk holiday than it is in Provo!
