let the celebration begin!

Independence Day celebrations start long before July 4th in Philadelphia. Last night Daniel and I went to watch fireworks over the river @ Penn's landing and it was the best we've ever seen! (Sorry, stadium of fire, but no competition.) They also had yummy foods from restaurants all over the city, unfortunately we maximized our food budget for the month so we only got to enjoy the smells! We're excited for all the fun things in store for this week and next weekend!

We've made it six months without killing each other!

Just kidding! Friday was our six month anniversary and the truth is, life is absolutely wonderful with each other! We love living together and love living in Philly. Daniel surprised me with dinner at the Melting Pot, I'd been wanting to go there forever! We both feel so incredibly blessed to have each other and are so grateful that we get to spend the rest of our lives together.

Italia

So I finished reading the 'eat' section of 'eat.pray.love' today and am absolutely dying to go to Italy!!! The food, the art, the people, the romance, the beauty. I'm determined if I ever get to go, which I have got to accept will probably not be til I'm like 50, I'm making a vow to gain weight while I'm there. That won't be too hard by then. All the talk about food food food just had me salivating while I was reading. I refused to read on in the book about India and decided to have an italian day in celebration. I made homemade bruschetta, split a cannoli and a napolean with daniel (from the best pastry shop ever that I discovered one day just from the delicious smell coming from it . . . no joke it was like the scent of heaven), and rented 'The Tourist'. I'm pretty sure it should be illegal to have Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, and Italy all in the same movie. They're just too dang good looking. Well until the day I can finally get there, I will have to satisfy myself with plenty of time in the italian market area of south philly and stuffing myself with breads, pastries, and pastas!

HALFWAY DONE!!!

I'm officially a second year MFT student today! I can't believe I made it halfway (and my friend Trish can't believe I moved across the country, lived with mice and bugs, planned a wedding, made it through a year of grad school, got married, moved again . . . all in 9 months. phew.) It's been a crazy crazy time and I'm SOOOO glad to have a much needed break, although I already don't really know what to do with myself. I mean I don't really remember what its like to have time to do things like paint my nails. Or watch a movie and not feel guilty? Or sew the pillow thats been ripped that I haven't had time to fix in, wait for it . . . 6 months! Hopefully I get used to this newfound freedom instead of spending my summer being stressed with not being stressed!

Before . . .
After . . .

Satisfaction.
